A prayer chain is maintained to provide prayer support for our families who have experienced a problem that they desire to have the church pray for. Requests are sent to all those who desire to be prayer partners by phone texts.
This ministry seeks to provide a means of fulfilling Christ’s command to “Go ye into all the world” with the Gospel. ECBC supports missions through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention. This provides our church to have worldwide impact. Offerings are taken throughout the year for special needs. We reach into our local mission field through community wide events such as “Trunk or Treat”.
We are so blessed with many musicians and vocalists who enhance our music ministry. A choir sings every Sunday morning with the congregation. From bluegrass to classic hymns, we lift our voices in praise. Special cantatas are prepared for Christmas and Easter.
A fully furnished four bedroom home is available for missionaries on furlough, medical leave, educational leave, recent retirement or vacation. Reservations can be made from 2 weeks to 1 year (if available). Since 2015, we have hosted several missionary families from across the globe.
A nursery is provided for infants – 3 years old during Sunday school and worship. Our dedicated workers provide a cheerful, clean environment, with tender loving care. Our church ensures your child’s safety and your peace of mind as you worship with us.
There are several options for learning more of God’s Word on Sunday morning. At 10 AM, we have classes for all ages, from the nursery to the seniors.
Each Sunday during the worship hour, 4-12 year old children meet in the youth area for children’s church. There they sing and learn God’s Word with interactive sessions. A committed group of teachers make sure that your child is taught God’s Word on their level.
Every third Thursday, we meet at Newport Convalescent Center for a time of music and testimony.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD:
Each month our congregation collects designated items that will fill shoeboxes in November to be sent through Samaritan’s Purse around the world to children. We pray over each box before it leaves for the distribution center and we also track our boxes to know where it was sent.
GOOD NEWS CLUBS:
The elementary schools of our county have open doors to give the Gospel. Through Good News and Child Evangelism Fellowship, we enter two of our county schools each week from September through April and give the Gospel to children from kindergarten to 5th grade. We have a committed group of volunteers who are focused in seeing young children come to Christ. We also minister to the school’s staff and also to the children’s parents.
Our church developed a website to provide additional opportunities for members and guests to view information about the church.
ECBC enters the county jail each December to give inmates hygiene items, a small meal and a Gospel witness.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18
Our vision for English Creek Baptist Church is to continue to reach out into our community and the world with the Gospel message. We desire to see people saved from every walk of life, age and ethnic background. We want to accomplish this vision through Spirit-filled church services, Bible studies, community evangelism and other media avenues.
We want to build and strengthen our church family so that they can reach out to those who need Christ. In order to properly reach out, the members of English Creek Baptist Church must be trained and Spirit-filled. This creates a unity and common desire to reach out. To do that we have Sunday school classes for all ages, a variety of Bible studies on Wednesday evening, and Bible preaching from our pulpit. Those in special ministries such as Good News are trained yearly in special sessions.
We also continue to pray for God to bring in the key people that can work along side of our current dedicated members. This vision can be accomplished as we obey God and as God provides all the necessary pieces.
